Pastor & "Inspirational" Comedian
Lester Barrie is a Christian Pastor, and professional comedian, who has and can perform anywhere under any circumstances, while always being nothing short of hilarious!!
Lester is the only Christian Pastor to record ONE stand-up comedy special, and he now has TWO! His second comedy special "A Fan of Marriage" will premiere on the "Dry Bar" platform in 2023. His first stand-up comedy special "Super Saint" is super funny and is still available on Amazon.
Lester Barrie is a Def Comedy Jam All Star, an Apollo Legend, and a full season's host of Comic View on Black Entertainment Television. Notably, Lester Barrie appeared on Star Search where he defeated a young Dave Chappelle and has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival.
"Inspirational" comedy and "Perfecting" preaching of the nation's only vocational pastor and professional comedian has been experienced from coast to coast. In 2023, Lester Barrie headlined a comedy show to unite the community at the historic Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church on Chicago's South Side. The next day Pastor Lester preached a soul stirring message from that church's pulpit. Ebenezer is "The Birthplace of Gospel Music."
Lester Barrie is also the founder of the Southern California "Inspirational" Comedy Competition. Nicknamed the Anti-Def Jam, this competition spotlights the top urban comedians performing comedy without profanity, vulgar or sexual content including innuendo. All material must be suitable for "primetime network" television. The evening also honors a veteran and influential comedian.
To date Lester Barrie performs frequently at "A" list comedy clubs on the LA scene, as well as at corporate functions, while serving as the Assistant Pastor at a Baptist Church in Greater Los Angeles. Together, he and his wife lead the Young Adult Ministry.
Currently Lester is pursuing his Master of Divinity at Gateway Theological Seminary. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California. Hailing originally from Chicago, Illinois by way of Long Beach Ca.
